  • M105/M205 questions.

    Hey guys,

I need to pick-up some M105/M205 to remove some swirls. Anyway, where is the cheapest place to get this stuff?

Also, if I have very very minor swirls, do I want to start off by using M205 with a W8006 pad? Will this remove the swirls?

If not, would I want to step up to M105 with a W8006 pad? Once they were removed, would I then use M205 with a W8006 pad, or will my paint be LSP ready after the M105?

    Thanks much!

    Jeff

Sounds like you have the right idea.

I believe if M105 removes the swirls you should follow up with M205 to make it LSP ready.

As for you question on where, that depends on what's available and if you don't mind ordering online.

Lowest price doesn't always translate into customer satisfaction or guarantees. Say you find an incredible bargain for M105 online at cheapdetailer.com (it's a fictional example, dont look it up) and you buy a quart of the stuff for $20. You're feeling pretty good because Meguiars Direct and ADS both sell their M105 quarts for a few dollars more. But when your package arrives 10 days later, you discover you bought the older M105 designed to work with a rotary, but not your new G110. The seller never communicated this information to you, and you attempts to reach their customer care department results in unanswered voicemails and e-mails.

Choose a supplier with a stated guarantee of satisfaction, choose a supplier that has received rave reviews from the members of this community. Since the prices from Megs Direct and ADS are already competitive, customer support is an invaluable intangible that cannot be matched by simply being the lowest bidder.

Auto detailing solutions has lots of great prices on Meguiars and also sample sizes. Always start with the least aggressive polish/pad combo and work up from there.

Just wondering if the sampler sizes of M105/M205 are worth getting from ADS? I have yet to try this stuff, but I've heard great things about it.

Realistically, how many cars could I detail with a sampler size of the two?

I got the 12oz samples and have used both on 4 cars and still have plenty left, now saving for gallons

I just bought a G110 kit from ADS and I bought the samplers that were not included for M205/105 - just cause I liked the bottle. I did a run of the m105 on my cobalt and used maybe 1/5th of a bottle. That's my first time doing this and in the beginning I was using maybe 3x as much product as I should've been. Seems like the sampler will go quite a ways for us casual folks.

You'll always use more at first to get some into the pad.

So, I do understand what yall are saying and it makes sense. Beyond that though, I still had a mess from using too much - at first. They did it on youtube, so I thought I could do it.
