  • SwirlX or Swirl Remover 2.0?

Hey there, new to the boards.

OK so, I have some buffer swirl marks that a body shop left on my car. And it was originally suggested that I use swirlX to remove these. I was looking through the Professional Products, and found Swirl Remover 2.0.

I'll be using a DA buffer, and I was wondering, could someone tell me which of these is going to be more effective at removing the swirl marks? I appreciate all your help, and I plan on taking pics to show before/after on my project this weekend.

Edit: what about the Ultra Finishing Polish?

    Welcome to Meguiars Online!!
I think SwirlX is more aggressive.
You may also need to try Ultimate Compound more aggressive or Scratch X 2.0 which is less aggressive, than SwirlX.

So which is more agressive Scratch X or Swirl X OR Swirl Remover? I have some Scratch X and dont want to do more harm then good on my paint which has only light swirls but is otherwise pretty flawless. I also am using a DA. Thanks.

Ironically I had just found and was reading that first thread. This forum and users is packed with great info for the newbie and beginning enthusiast! Thanks.

I would use SwirlX (test spot first) and just stop working when you feel it's good. Since SwirlX uses Super Micro Abrasive Technology, you can work it shorter or longer depending on the job. The original ScratchX was different. It used Diminishing Abrasive Technology and therefore once you worked it so much, it wouldn't cut anymore and you'd just be wasting your effort if you kept working. On the other hand, it was most effective to work up until the point at which the abrasives diminished.

That's not entirely correct. ScratchX 2.0 is more aggressive than SwirlX. See the "Order of Aggressiveness" thread.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
