    What to get next...

    After detailing my friends saturn, I realized the PC and Makita are great tools but im looking for something with a bit more bite without the extra lap around polishing.

    Im torn between the Flex DA polisher or Cyclo polisher.

    I have yet to try out either one so I was wondering which one to get.

    Im leaning towards the Flex because I love my DA to death but its just not enough power while the Cyclo offers 2 heads which I could attach use a cutting pad and then a polishing pad behind it which will also mean less time polishing, im just not sure about the power though.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    The FLEX is the the way to go for that. I do not think trying to different heads at once on a Cyclo would turn out very well... you would have to perfectly follow your trail from the lead head and only be able to move in one direction.

      I asked about the Cyclo back in March. This was the answer from ScottWax:

        After re-reading "Scottwax" input. I think the choice is obvious. Go with the Flex.

          What about the backing plate?
          Does anyone using a Flex with the original backing plate with the new Meg 2.0 pads?

            Both are good choices. I prefer my Cyclo. Built like a tank(made in Colorado), great corrective ability (for my needs), very low vibration are key attributes of the Cyclo. But to be fair, I have not tried the Flex. I have heard very nice things about it. I have been able to get pad sets from EBay at a reasonable price, plus from Cyclo's website you can buy carpet brushes, wool pads, etc to expand the abilities of the Cyclo.

              I'm assuming you're looking for more 'bite' than the PC without having to use Makita then PC? If you're doing 2 steps mostly Makita and PC is a great combo, but if you are doing mostly 1 step corrections then Flex is the only compromise... it does have a lot more bite than the PC but will finish out without holograms like Makita sometimes does

                I have the Flex and use Meguiar's 2.0 pads all the time with it. No problem

                  Wait until the midwest get together and try some of the machines they are going to have down there and see which one you like the best.

                    Yeah, i was going to wait a bit before I made a purchase just to get more info on both of these machines.

                    Is anyone bringing a cyclo to the meeting?
