First some background. Our family has four cars and I just recently got into detailing and am hoping to do some side business detailing my friends cars on the weekend and after completely detailing two of our cars by hand, my hands are dead. I am looking at maybe the Flex XC 3401. What do you suggest? I have been looking at the kits for it on ADS. What kit do you suggest to go with? I am looking at the Professional kit. If I went with that I would wash, clay, and then use Paint Reconditioning Cream? Which would remove scratches, etc? From there I would use a wax? What would you suggest getting, currently I use NXT 2.0. And lastly I would use the synthetic Paint Sealant? Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with getting my first polisher
The flex is like a G110 on steroid, basically it does the same thing but is a bit stronger and able to get out more defects and do it quicker. The professional kit sound like it will be a good first step for you. What is the condition of the cars you are working on swirl-wise. D151 may not be strong enough to remove all the swirls, so you may want to think about picking up some M105/M205 as well. M21 (the synthetic paint sealant) is NXT 2.0 just in the professional line (only difference is that it has a little bit more lubricants so it can handle the heat of a rotary being used in body shops) So no need to go over your NXT with 21. You could do 2 coats of NXT or 21 if you wish.
Do you have an approximate price range of how much you are looking to spend? I'd suggest picking up a few other items as well, but it all depends on how much you want to spend (the flex is quite pricey)
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

From what I read, the Flex is a great machine but has a learning curve to it!
How much do you want to spend? At least a G110, pads, M105/M205/M80(ol' reliable) to get you started with towels and your favorite wax of course!Philippians 2:14 - Do all things without grumbling or questioning,
