  • Newbe?'s

I know there is a wealth of knowledge here, but sorting through it is tough if you are new. I just got a PC-7424 and this pad kit:

I need a little help picking product to use. I'm just looking to make my daily drivers look good for now. After I learn what I am doing I'll move on to making toy cars look awesome. My cars are a silver 2001 RX300 with pretty normal paint, some medium deep scratches and minor oxidation. Other car is a pearl white 2006 MDX with similar scratches and no oxidation. Both have spent plenty of time outside, but no significant sun damage. I'm in Ohio so we get decent acid rain water spots, but again nothing too crazy.

So I'm trying to pick some products that will not get me into trouble and at the same time not spend extra hours getting it show car perfect. I don't have to get every flaw out right now, just improve things and learn.

What I have in my cart right now:

83 I'm thinking this is what I start with for general clean up 1st run.

    80 ?

    82 ?

    205 ?

    Final wax/sealer????

and 105 but not planning to use this until I get a good feel for what I'm doing.

Not sure if this makes sense or not. My thought is to clean the cars up with 83 and then skip down to 80 or 82 and wax with something. Am I making any sense? It seems like a lot of the products overlap. Is it reasonable to think I can use 83 to clean it up, drop to a finer product and just wax after that, or do I need more runs with more product slowly coming down?

    Wax/sealer?

    Thanks!

83 followed by 80 is a time proven method on most paints. Give that a shot and adjust accordingly if you don't get the results you are looking for.

Ok, so I'm on the right track. I think I still need a final wax or sealer after 80? Any suggestions?

      Thanks for the help!

Sure, Nxt Tech Wax 2.0 or #21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 would be my choices.

Can't go wrong with NXT 2.0 it's great stuff, easily available and just looks great on your car.

M21, M26, M16, GC are among my other favorites too.....
