  • CardBoard Washer??

    I bought this kit, http://www.eshine.ca/2_porter_cable_...r_kit-3181.php

And yesterday i opened it and the DA Backing plate ( 5") has a cardboard washer(spacer) on the spindle, is this supposed to stay on or do i take it off?

    thanks in advance, Anthony

    Re: CardBoard Washer??

    I never owned the 7424.
I do not know what it is for.
Some one else will chime in.
Did you buy it from that site?
    It did not look credible.

I actually met the owner at a car show and he sold it to me.

I own and use a PC7424 and if you're referring to the little yellow spacer located on the backing plate input shaft then yes, it's supposed to stay on. Also, if you swap out backing plates (for different size/type pads) then the spacer needs to be transferred to the new one.

Actually, eShine is a very reputable Canadian dealer, I have dealt with him and highly recommend him myself.

Very strange though. I have never had an issue opening his site, even a few minutes ago, but now am getting a malicious site warning.
Will send him an email about this...

Chris is currently having some problems with his site. Some people can see it, some cannot. Just one of those days I guess :P

eShine is one of the few places in Canada where you can get hard to find specialty detailing supplies. You guys in the US don't know how good you have it when it comes to accessing the different products.

eshine.ca sells M16 and is LEGIT, I have made a few purchases from Chris, fantastic service.

Might want to be careful about trashing someones company without knowing anything about it.

Yup. Eshine is the real deal and one of the best options for Canadians to get their detailing supplies.

I've talked to the owner by phone and he's a great guy.

Please be mindful of your words because we're talking about someone's livelihood and just because your browser didn't work with it, doesn't mean it's a shady site.

I don't know about his credibility but his prices are outrageous. Hopefully that is because of the canadian money.

                          Oh yes we do!

Also I'm very fortunate and happy to live close to Meg's.
Sometimes I just go there because people like you can't. I'm doing my part for you!
And on the other hand I feel for you guys who can't get specific products/equipment.

                            Re: CardBoard Washer??

I think we have our bases covered on the warning about no bashing... but let's also keep in mind we want to be courteous to the members of the forum too.

The way I read MGM's post was that he genuinely thought the site might not be safe since his browser blocked it- I didn't take it as he was attacking it.

Regardless, many users have had great experiences with that vendor, so it likely is just a temporary technical issue.

Please carry on, but remember to be courteous!

                              Mark,
How about you clean-up the posts on page 1 by Carfire and MQM? I don't feel it is fair to eShine to have these type of statements floating around the open, especially when they are not true. eShine is a Megs distributor afterall.
                              Thanks.
