  • What products to purchase with a new PC?

I am finally going to break down and get a PC.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what products I should by with it? I found this list posted by Mike, Recommended Products for Removing Below Surface Paint Defects using the G100, which is great but it is for below surface defects.

I have an SC2 (Pewter), Vue (Silver), Camaro (Black), and Bonneville (Midnight Blue) that are well maintained clear coat finishes and just need to be kept up.

    I planned on getting:

    The Soft Buff 2.0 pads
    M80

Outside of that I assume I can use my NXT and Gold class along with my deep crystal products with the PC but are there any other accessories or Megs products that anyone feels are must haves with a DA?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thanks.

If the paint is in great shape, get a light cleaner/polish that uses SMAT

    Either M205 or SwirlX

M80 is a great product but the new SMAT products are producing as good or better results with little to no problems with micro-marring that can happen with some paints using M80 Speed Glaze.

Hiya, Topcat. The big decision facing you is which polishes to get. Meguiar's offers you several options. You may find this brief article helpful: The Skinny on Meguiar's D/A Polishes. No matter which ones you finally choose, they will make it possible for you to remove swirls and scratches with your PC.

Along with your polishes, you definitely want to get the claybar kit.

Be sure to read these articles if you have not already done so:

      Meguiar's 5-Step Paint Care Cycle
Using the G-100 to remove swirls with the Professional Line

You may also find helpful this manual: Detailing World's Dual Action Polisher Guide.

      Good luck and have fun!

Mike and Akimel thanks for the info. Thankfully I do already have the clay kit and love the results.

Mike this was from your post "Aggressiveness Order for New Consumer Products - This will surprise you!"

NOTE: M205 is specifically formulated and intended to be used with a rotary buffer on fresh paint after the initial cut is made using M105 Ultra Cut Compound. When M105 is used correctly, they may only be some fine swirls left in the paint and this is what M205 is designed to remove. This is our new M105/M205 Tag Team primarily targeted at body shops where technicians are sanding and buffing fresh paint. Of course we know the detailing industry as well as the enthusiast segment of the car hobby will also use these products so we just want to set the record straight as to what these two products are intended to do and who they are primarily target towards.
Am I alright in assuming then that while 205 was formulated to follow 105; but I can still use it as a stand alone product?

Should I also pick up some M83? Or would the 205 be better or roughly the same?

        Thanks again for your help.
