  • Need help from fellow members

a friend of mine is wanting me to bring some sort of life back to his old grand marquise. I have provided some pictures, from my phone which is all I had at the time. I own a G110, 2 8006 pads, 2 9006 pads, # 83, # 80, Clay Bar, some good NXT car wash, and the GC three step system. I would like to know if I can bring back any of this car to a somewhat of a luster again?

Are M83/M80 your only products at the moment?

Is the paint single stage paint or base coat/clear coat?

You will know right away when you start to polish. If it is single stage, start with M80, it's awesome on single stage paints. I own both M83/M80 combo and love them still.

Try the M80, a couple of passes in a 12X12 area, if that don't touch it, then go to your M83 a couple of passes in the same 12X12 area. I've gone up to 3 passes with a product. Don't forget to clean your pad on the fly.

I see your limited on pads, if you end up switching to M83, clean the pad you used on M80 in preparation as a backup for M83 so you have a fresh pad.

This thread is a good one for M83:

How to use the G100 (and G110/G220) to remove swirls

If that don't cut it, then your next option would be a rotary and probably the M105/M205 combo if that's an option.

But try a test spot with what you have and see!

The DC system is great, but it's too mild a product for what your up against at the moment.

Try a test spot and let us know!

ok, I will definently try the test spot, I just wanted to verify that what I currently had would be good enough for the job. thankyou all!

It may or may not be, but keep us posted. I had to use slight rotary work on my boy's truck on his SS paint but after that it was smooth sailing with the PC and M80, just need to finish it now!

Looks like single stage to me. Go at it with the M83 and M80.
