Ok, I am looking to get one of each pad, cutting, polishing, and buffing for the DA polisher, first off will these work on my porter cable DA or will I need to purchase a different backing plate. My paint is in good shape, with some light swirls because of salt up here in MN. Would you recomend the swirl X with a cutting pad, a polish with the polishing pads, and then the buffing pad with a wax. I am worried the cutting pad might be to harsh. If this question has been asked guide me to the answer please.

Yeah, I bought two 7006 pads and I've never even opened one becuase I only use the other one (with a bonnet) to remove my LSP.----------------------------------

Re: Pad and polish question
Check out this thread, you can click on the links or the pictures for more information on the different types of foam and know that we also offer these in a smaller size but the smaller size isn't washable.
Washable 7" Soft Buff 2.0 Foam Pads
W7207 Washable Foam Cutting Pad
W8207 - Washable Foam Polishing Pad
W9207 - Washable Foam Finishing Pad
At this time we don't recommend using our cutting pads with a DA Polisher because the foam formula is aggressive enough that it may remove the defects quickly but it can also leave the paint hazy.
For what it's worth, you can use our yellow polishing pads with the right chemical and tackle just about anything that comes your way and when our yellow pad with a product like Ultimate Compound on the 5.0 Speed Setting doesn't remove the defects then instead of using a more aggressive pad it might be time to work by hand or start using a rotary buffer.
Your hand can exert more pressure to a smaller area than a DA Polisher and thus be more effective at removing swirls and scratches although it will require you to do more work versus letting a machine do the work.
