Tailor made to enhance the buffing feel and finish results when used with Meguiar’s Soft Buff 2.0 Pads
Precisely tuned outer edge for ideal pad contouring over flat and curved surfaces
Long lasting, one-piece molded construction
Perfect centering when used with Meguiar’s Soft Buff 2.0 Pads
It's also more flexible.
Not sure what you're working on but for what it's worth, you can tackle just about anything under the sun except projects where the best tool for the job is actually a rotary buffer with the G110, 2-6 W-8006 Foam Polishing Pads or W-8207 Foam Polishing pads, one or two scratch and swirl mark removers and a finishing pad and a wax of your choice.
It doesn't have to be complicated and it shouldn't be complicated.

Hey Mike, thx for the insight!
Are the 8006 the softbuff 2.0 polishing pads?
Another quick question, while reading all those helpful links you provided, I sidetracked and also read some thread where some people mention "misting" their pad with QD before applying the product to the pad. Do you suggest this? Or simply put the product straight onto the pad and get to work?

Guess what? There's a thread just for that questions. We have a forum group called Hot Topics, which is filled with common or popular and even hot topics and this is a topic or question that a lot of people have thus there's at thread about it in the Hot Topics forum group.
While the subject line lists M105 and M205 the principal applies to any paint care product in Meguiar's line of products.
