  • can i substitute #80 to #82 in DA??

    hi everybody!

i ask this because i do have this products: #84, #83 and #82.
    i don´t have the #80.

my intention is use this process:
    1) whash with meguiars shampoo
    2) clear with meguiars deep cleaner with w8006 (can i use?)
    3) polish with meguiars #83 and #82 with w8006
    4) wax with meguiars #26 carnauba wax with w9006
    5) detailing with meguiars quick detailer

    can i use this process?

because if no, i need to buy the #80.

    giv me a light!!!

    thanks

I think it should be okay.
As usually try a test spot and check the results.

Given that you will be polishing with #83, I think you can skip step #2 altogether. Either go directly from wash & dry to your polishing, or if inspection of the paint surface reveals bonded contaminants, then clay your car before polishing.

Assuming you're using a DA Polisher, (This is posted in the DA Polisher Forum group)

        Wash
        Clay if needed
Clean with M83 and a W-8006 on the 5.0 Speed Setting

After using the M83, inspect your results. If they look good after M83 you could go straight to wax. If you see any hazing or you want to do an extra polishing step to maximize gloss and clarity then,

        Wash
        Clay if needed
Clean with M83 and a W-8006 on the 5.0 Speed Setting
        Polish with M82 and a new/clean W-8006 on the 5.0 Speed Setting
Wax with M26 and a W-9006 foam Finishing pad on the 3.0 to 4.0 Speed Setting

Of course, after washing and drying, (and claying if needed), the first thing you want to do is a Test Spot.

Test out the M83 to a small section on the hood or trunk lid and check your results. Make sure you can make a small area look good before going over the entire car.

If you're going to do the entire process, then use the M83, the M82 and the M26 to a small section and then inspect.

The idea being to make sure your choice of products, pads and just as important your skill and abilities to apply and work these products will results in a great looking finish. If after doing your test spot the paint is not looking the way you want or expect then post back here and we'll do our best to see you through to success....
