Re: Surprised to see a meguiar's G100 at my work
My garage is located beneath my deck so what I'm going to do is buy tarps from home depot and basically make temporary walls with anchored bottoms so it doesn't move around as much. My water line has both hot and cold water so I just make it warm so the water doesn't freezes. Talk about being ghetto yes.....but I live to improvise and use what I got to work with.

Re: Surprised to see a meguiar's G100 at my work
It was like close to 50 bucks so I wasn't really complaining about it since I got the DA for free and basically paid 50 bucks for maintenance guy also hook me up with the wrench to take the BP off lol

I did find a vhs tape on how to use Medallion. Is that rare?

Back in 1991 when I started detailing for a small used car dealer Meguiar's had a Distribution center and a Training Center in Carlisle PA. It was managed by Wayne Alfrey , Larry Alfrey his son and Bill Devoe. The 1st class I went in Carlisle Larry showed us what polishing with a DA could do. I still have the adpt.to fit the DA and the 6" version of the W1000 they gave out in class and use it today.

So it's certain that Meguiar's had introduced the DA Polisher to the enthusiasts market in 1995
It's possible we introduced it before 1995 but so far I can't find any documentation for it in my collection, that doesn't mean we didn't do it it just means that's as far back as my Brilliant Solutions catalog goes.
I have a 1989 and a 1990 Consumer Catalog on my desk and think I have some catalogs from 1988 when I first started working for the company.
Don't think I have anything earlier than this however.

Ordering pads and backing plate for my DA and Dewalt tomorrow ^_^ feels like christmas already.
Here's my Dewalt 849 Rotary and small collection of the commercial products.
Here's my beginning of the meguiar's collection lol:
Look it's the G100 ^_^ I don't know how to use it yet so someone gotta direct me to some how-to's lol

The one on the left is from 1995 and the one on the right is from 1996, the catalog from 1995 documents Meguiar's introducing the G100 at least 13 years ago and before this we were showing people in the Professional Trade how to use air powered DA Sanders to polish paint by using our W5500 Foam Polishing Pad, which if you look closely is the actual pad on the Porter Cable unit pictured below, not a W-8006 on a W64 DA Backing Plate.
The lettering is kind of fuzzy but you can make out that it says Porter Cable
Does anyone reading this have an older Brilliant Solutions Catalog?

Re: Surprised to see a meguiar's G100 at my work
Some of the G100's were sold with a lifetime warranty, you'll need to call Customer Care at 1-800-347-5700 and check with them. It's likely as others have said, a broken cord or worn brushes, both can be fixed.
