  • Misleading?

So I did a Google search for "Makita 9227" just because I was curious and I found this page. On this page, it says that the DA doesn't really remove swirls, it just masks them while the polish fills in the swirls so that later they come back. Is there any truth to this statement or is this just one of those misleading "facts" on the internet?

Totally misleading....if your using the right technique and product you will be removing some of the clear coat in order to get rid of the scratches and defects in the paint.

Yeah because I just removed a bunch of paint staining and I don't see how the DA could "conceal" that unless it was a magic wand. And if it was a magic wand, I'd still want it. Haha.

        Oh no!
Are you telling me that when I used my random-orbital as a sander last week to remove the old paint off that piece of wood...

That I just masked the old paint, and didn't remove it?

        Dang!
I suppose I should have used a grinding disc on my rotary machine and actually removed the paint.

Well, I used the G220 and it's 100% removing paint . and I think in some cases I only use it in a complete job.

Let's keep in mind the forum rules. We can discuss technique and tools but let's form our conversation in a way that we keep it positive.

              Thanks!
