  • worked for me....

i just completed my 1st experience with the 7424 and the new softbuff 2.0 pads. used #80 on a '97 toyota.

Noticed that the pad would spins very slow and often stop spinning. I misted the pad with quik detailer and that seemed to help a lot. finally got the pad to keep spinning....

I am going to try the 5" lake country pads next to see if they spin/ rotate easier.
I assume they can use the same backing plate...?

Since this was your first post...

        Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

There's at least one and maybe two threads on pad rotation in our Hot Topics forum group.

Getting great results with a a DA Polisher, a tool with a clutch which is the safety feature everyone loves but also the 'limiter' into how much corrective power the tool provides, is a balancing act.

Smaller pads means reduced surface area for the tool to have to push over the surface and in most cases you'll get better rotation all other things being equal. The G110 and the G220 Meguiar's introduced have more power than the Porter Cable unit and this provides more power to rotate any size pad better but there are still limits as to what a tool with a clutch can do.
