  • Got my G110 today

What surprised me was how heavy this machine is. I've used wal-mart buffers before and i can hold them with one hand while applying wax to vertical surfaces. I'm afraid i wont be able to, or have a hard time using the g110 on vertical surfaces.

I'm gonna have to wait for spring until i can try this baby out.

How much pressure am i supposed to push down while using it? Paint correction and waxing?

    Thx

When removing defects or doing paint correction, you want to be applying about 12-15lbs of pressure on the head of the machine. This varies though with products and the surface your working on. You want the pad to be spinning or else it's just vibrating.

When waxing, you want to apply just enough pressure to spread the product out and allow for uniform coverage. This is usually about 5lbs of pressure.

I sure hope you don't have to wait that long to use it! The PC is in fact very easy to use on both vertical and horizontal surfaces you will be pleasantly surprised! -- apply your product to the pad on the machine rather than the surface of the vehicle of course you do not want the machine on while applying product.

          Re: Got my G110 today

I got my G110 last summer and love it! Most of my work is on an RV so most is vertical use. I find I can be on a ladder, steady myself with one hand and use the machine with the other. Works well for me anyway....I'm sure you'll love it and the results!

              Re: Got my G110 today

Compared to a rotary buffer it's lightweight, easy to hold and can be used with one hand when applying a wax.

Guess it's just a perspective thing based upon experience...

I don't mean to lighten the tone of this thread, but I always found this video of Paul Dalton entertaining where he one-hands a rotary polisher (much heavier than G110).

It just takes practice. The more you use it, the easier it becomes. Each time you do use the machine, you will build up the specific muscles you are exercising, so that each time it will become easier and easier.

At extremely high RPMS, with a finishing polish and a soft pad it actually is "that easy" to one hand a rotary. Not that I've tried or anything...
