That is correct. Some people recommend Dawn Power Dissolver to clean pads. Some people just use Dawn Classic and others use a vast array of cleaning chemicals.

At this time Meguiar's still doesn't recommend washing our W-7000, W-8000, W-9000 pads or our W-7006, W-8006, or W-9006 pads.

Our new W-7207, W-8207 and W-9207 2.0 Soft Buff pads are washable.
