with all the different pad sizes what is the difference beside the obvious? they all work the same regardless of the size no?

    Re: da pad size

I like the 6" pads better than the 8" pads (Meguiar's of course) so, my 8" pads got shrunk down to 6" pads via a razor knife, rotary and sandpaper

The smaller pads can do smaller areas and in my experience easier to control. Also, you can use the same pads on a rotary with the 6" backing plate W64 and have the W67DA backing plate for the DA.

Just personal preference. I don't think the 8" pads may spin too well on a DA after a few applications even with cleaning on the fly, not even sure they make a backing plate for the DA for the 8" pads anymore.

As far as doing the same, yes in my experience just larger and harder for me to control.

The smaller the pad, the less likely they are to bog down

Thats the main thing I have found. The larger pads tend to bog down on me. Thats why I prefer the smaller pads.

Agreed, all I have right now is 8" pads. I can't wait to get the smaller ones.
