This is my first post, but i have been reading quite a lot and found tons of info so far. Mind you, I have owned my d/a for for about 4 years, so I thought I "knew" how to use it. So I was reading the thread about #83 and the right amount of product. So I was excited to try it on my wifes black accord. I clayed the car, then used #83 and 8006 pad. I used 3 dime sized drops on the pad and did small sections. I think I might of needed to use a little more product though as there was a lot of dried product when finished which created a lot of dust on the car. Other than that, I was really impressed with the outcome. I then went to the nxt 2.0 with a 9006 pad. Again I used 3 dime sized drops, but did a larger section. Went over the entire car, then took off the wax. Now comes the strange part. It looked great in the garage, even under the lights. But when i took it outside in the sun, I noticed vertical streaks along the sides of the car. Not quite sure how to explain what they look like, but I don't think it is from using too much product. So what caused this and how do I fix it? Sorry for the long post. Jerry.

Re: NXT 2.0 and D/A
Streaks after applying NXT2.0. Try QDing them. Did it pass the swipe test before you remove it? Some forumers infact face the smear/streaking issue even after passing the swipe test but its usually gone after 24hrs or so.

Re: NXT 2.0 and D/A
I think NXT 2.0 & streaking issue has been covered a lot here, so you might want to do a search on streaking.
I think the most common reason is either:
1. Too much product and/or;
2. Removed too soon.
The fix is usually less product and more time, with the immediate fix being to go over the car with QD and a clean MF towel.
If not for the above, the only thing I can think of was whether or not the 9006 pad you used was clean or possibly contaminated with another product.----------------------------------

Welcome to MOL, Jerry!
With regard to the M83 if you started on a dry pad with just 3 drops of product you may have started with too little on the first few passes. This product is also not quite as forgiving as M80 so you need to clean your pad on the fly a bit more often - maybe after every body panel.
As for the streaks with NXT, you may well have tried removing it too soon. Depending on your ambient humidity drying time, even with a thin coat, could be 30 minutes or more. Even if you allowed NXT to dry on the paint for 6 hours, not that we're recommending that mind you, but even if you did, it would wipe off very easily.Michael Stoops

Re: NXT 2.0 and D/A
I don't think I used too much product, but maybe so. I was using 3 dime sized drops on the pad and that would be for a little more than a 1/4 of the hood. the same amount would do about 1/2 a door. It was definitely hot outside. Maybe 98-100, so the garage was close to that. Maybe I was working the area too much. I did the same with the nxt as I did for the #83, 2 passes in each direction. But what I have are lines about 2-3 inches wide running vertical on the side of the car. And they alternate between being shiny and not as shiny. I will try qd and see if that helps. Thanks, Jerry.

Re: NXT 2.0 and D/A
I just finished detailing my car with NXt 2.0 and had absolutly no streaking of any kind. Did you work in the shade? Did it pass the swipe test? I heard of people having steaking probelms with NXT and NXT 2.0 but I never did. It always leave a nice clean shine behind. Wipes off very easy.
