  • Applying M21 2.0 on a yellow pad 2.0

Hi guys, I was looking around youtube and saw a vid clip from Megs Asia showing how to do wetsanding-compound-polish-wax process.

In the clip, the guy used a yellow foam 2.0 to apply M21 2.0 on a black paint using a G110.

    Here is the link:

Question - why? Why not on a finishing pad? I've always used a finishing pad. Never tried it on a yellow pad.

Can it be to fully utilize the minute cleaning power of the M21 2.0 and to furthermore add gloss?

I cant think of an answer now, so appreciate the advise.

    Thank you!

It's perfectly acceptable to apply a wax using one of our yellow foam polishing pads.

It's personal preference. We here at the Corporate office teach people that after you've done your prep work, that is removed the defects, if the goal is the best looking finish you can get then you do everything you can to achieve that goal. So when it comes time to apply a wax to a perfectly cleaned and polished finish you use a finishing pad because it's softer and more gentle to the paint and because at this point you don't need a polishing pad as you're no longer trying to remove defects out of the paint but instead you're trying to spread out a layer of wax.

Won't hurt to use a polishing pad, we just show how to continually move forward in the paint polishing process and that means always using the least aggressive product to get the job done.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. Yep, I was reading old threads (2004-2005) and saw some forumers mentioned it as a personal preferance and some mentioned they'll try to do anything which can assist in reaching their detailing goals.

Lots more to explore and learn from...

      Thanks again.
