I was detailing my car this weekend for the first time since I've gotten it, but the clear coat seems to be as hard as rock. I've tried w8006 with both #80 and #83, but barely seeing much progress. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

What speed setting and which machine are you using. Assuming your using the DA and speed 5, is your technique right?

What type of car are you working on? And are you seeing any progress at all or nothing at all?
Your size isn't too big, but if your seeing some progress I would suggest shrinking the size down to maybe 1x1 then trying it.

The only other thing I can think of is that #83 can gum up really easily, so using just the right amount with a clean pad is crucial to getting good results. After cleaning your pad, try using less product and less pressure but working for a longer time, not to a dry buff though.

Cleaning the pad, is to remove all the product from the front of the pad to the middle, i find because i dont have a spur tool, that if u have a spare mf, turn the machine right down, (helps if u are sat dont) press a MF onto the face and turn the machine on for a few seconds

Looks like I need to do some updating on the List O' Links and try to get rid of some of the links so people can easily find them...I'll work on it today.

The amount of product you use makes a huge difference in your results, especially with M83. Keep your pad clean and never overextend your 2'x2' work area. If your technique is right and you still aren't getting results, you may have reached the limits of a PC/G110. Some modern clear coats are so rock hard that you can only use a rotary or a Flex DA to remove defects. I finally reached this point, so I bought myself a Flex and couldn't be happier. All of the swirls that my G100 couldn't touch, the Flex removes in one pass.
