  • I just got my G110!

So yesterday I finally decided and bought a G110 from ADS. By the way, I am VERY satisified with them! Got my polisher the very next day. Well, when I got home from work, with what little light was left I tried it out on some of the scratches in the Escape that I couldnt get out by my hand, got them out no problems! Was a while since I went to the Meguiars Saturday class so I had to try and remeber what I learned.

Tomorrow I am going to have some more fun with it.

My god father has an old International Harvestor Scout that is pink instead of the red it should be. When I have some time off I want to go test it out on that....even though I am pretty sure nothing can save that paint. lol

You would be surprised with what you can do with old single stage paints when you use the right products, use just any old abrasive compound and all you'll do is remove paint and dull it.

Take some M80 Speed Glaze and rub a section using a piece of terry cloth towel and you'll find out if it can be fixed or not.

I think this Friday I am going to throw all my detailing stuff in the back of the Escape and going to see what can be done with it. I actually dont know if its a single stage paint or if it has a clear coat on it. I think he had it repainted sometime in the '90s.

Oh, and if it is a single stage paint and I try buffing it, will it mess up the pad? Or would I just have to clean it afterwords?

If the paint is a single stage paint then your pad will turn the color of the paint, no worries just clean as good as you can and move forward.

When working on clear coat paint you get some clear paint on your pads but don't think twice about it as you can't see it.

So no worries.. just clean as well as you can.

If you end up doing an extreme makeover on this Scout be sure to get GREAT Before pictures because once you start working on the paint you'll change it and then you can never go back and get the before shots.

Old Scouts are cool, especially the real short ones that were full-convertibles. Some even came with a half-cab hard top.

Re: I just got my G110!

Well, I havent been able to go to my godfathers shop to try out on his Scout but I did get some play time on my best friends Mustang. This would be my first real try at playing with it:

I am still trying to figure out what works best with what. The next vehicle I takle is going to be a womans SUV at my work. The only time it was waxed was when she bought it new.
