  • bonnet over 7006

i was thinking of doing a deepcrystal cleaner/wax as quick maintence

    i have a g110 7006 with a microfiber bonnet from ads

the g110 does not spin very well with this combo and it could not remove claenerwax?

    why?

i had better results with 9006 pad itself

the cleaner wax strong for a bonnet?

How did you apply the the Cleaner Wax, with the DA or by hand?

Usually if the DA with a W-7006 with a MF bonnet does not remove the residue, it is usually because the product was applied to thick and/or was left too long or not long enough before removal. Hence Meguiar's recommends doing the Swipe Test to see when the product is ready to be removed.

    Swipe Test:

After allowing the wax to fully dry for anywhere from 15 minutes to longer, how long depends upon temperature, humidity and how thin or thick your layer of wax is, but after some time has gone by test the wax to see if it's dry by performing the Swipe Test, that is to take your clean finger and give the waxed area a brisk swipe. After you do this inspect the swiped area, it the wax is dry and ready to remove the swiped area will be clear and glossy. If so, the remove the wax. If the area you swiped is smeary, then wait for more time to go by and maybe evaluate how thick the coating of waxy you applied is, perhaps you applying your wax to thick and this is why it's taking a long time to fully dry? In most cases, in average temperatures and humidity, a coating of NXT Tech Wax will fully dry in about 15 minutes.

I use a my PC 7424 on speed 5 with that combination to remove Cleaner/Wax and #21. Did you make sure to apply only a thin coat? Did you gently swipe the wax with your finger to test for dryness (complete and clean removal) prior to buffing it off?

When the wax is properly dried you can buff it off at least all the flats--hood, top, trunk lid-- without getting much build up on the bonnet. I can most always buff the entire car with both sides of a single bonnet.

It will be best to use a W7006 pad since this pad compared to others is more dense. You'll put the pad on the PC like a regular pad and once it's attached you'll put the bonnet over the W7006 pad.

The bonnet just gets stretched out over the W7006 pad. You should check it periodically to see if it is getting gummed up. Switch it to the other side and continue.
