Got my G-100 DA!!!

Just wanted to share my happiness!!! Well, I still need to go to the clinic for a thorough lesson on how to use it.. Well, I would just like to ask for advice on how to properly use it. Thanks everyone!

You might do a search. There is already a ton of information about the G-100 and techniques on how to use it on the forum. Check out the Detail Days at Meguiar's as well as other areas. Also try searching PC and Porter Cable to make sure you find what you are looking for.

If your read through the Detail Days at Meguiar's threads, or most of my extreme makeover threads, I write a lot about using the PC.

What do you have for chemicals?

Thanks guys! Well, I've read through most of the threads here in MOL but I'm still not sure about the pressure as I couldn't measure my applied force. I move my arm very slowly though. I guess after 3 detail jobs using it, I might have gotten a little better somehow... But nothing would compare to something like a Detail Day where Mike teachers you personally!!!

As for the chemicals I bought along with it...

#82 (1gal)
#81 (32 oz)
2 bottles of NXT
6 W8006 pads
1 W9006 pad
NXT Metal Polisher
Detailer's Super degreaser

Just a thought, but you might want to get some #80 at some point. I have found that #80 followed by 2 coats of NXT is a pretty nice looking combo on the average daily driver.

I would also suggest some ultimate bonnets if you don't have any. I find these save me a great deal of time and energy.

Overall looks like a great purchase to me!

Have some fun with it...The only way to get better is to practice!

I will at some point.. So, you don't apply #81 before waxing when you're detailing other people's cars? I think that's because #80 already has a lot of polishing oils with it, right? I would also get Last Touch detailings pray...

I tend to apply 81 if it's a darker colored car. I find it gives me a little more shine and depth. However, 81 always seems quite hard to remove for me so I avoid using it on lighter colored cars. 80 is usually suficient in most cases for me.

Thanks. I have a suggestion for #81 so that it would be easier to work with. Apply the product to a couple of panels then remove it before working on the other/remaining panels.. For example, I apply it to the hood, front (left and right) fenders then before moving on, I remove it immediately. As Mike said, pure polishes don't need to dry before removing it. Indeed, it's very oily..
