  • W7000 / W7006 cutting pads?

Looking over the products recommended pad and speed chart, I dont see any use for the W7000/ W7006 red cutting pads? Is it to harsh? Is it a pad that I should have or is it one that I will never use?

What will you be working with Rotary or DA? I know it is not recomended for use with a DA and as for using it with a Rotary it is not to harsh. The wool pad would be the most agressive and sometimes needed. As you may have also read you always want to try the least agressive method first which is why you would have to use the W7000 cutting pad. As for me i always start with the W7000 or W7006 ( for cutting/ compounding not polishing ) and often find that is enough for almost all jobs and there is no need to grind down with an even more agressive wool pad but of course sometimes the wool pad is needed. If you are using a DA then you will be working mainly with polishing and finishing pads not cutting pads. Ok well i hope this helps

The 7006 pad can be used with a DA if you put a bonnet over it to remove wax.

Im working with a g110. So I dont need to have a 7000 pad. So I should just review the chart for what pad & product to use and I should be ok.

At this time we don't recommend using our foam cutting pad with DA Polisher because the foam is aggressive enough that it can haze the paint.

It will remove defects very well since its more abrasive but on some paints the foam itself will haze or micro-mar the finish and we don't teach people how to make their paint dull and haze.

Besides that, when you use our polishing pad correctly, if the defects can be removed using a DA Polisher then the W-8006 will do the job.

As mentioned, if you want to remove dried wax by machine, our W-7006 foam cutting pad with a clean, dry microfiber bonnet over the foam works really well because this foam is very stiff.
