  • Dewalt D26453K , good for Auto use???

A Friend of Mine uses Dewalt D26453K, he purchased at home depot for around $80.00..3.0 motor. Now he uses it to finish guitars, but i just seena telecaster he built with, smooth as glass..the nitrocellulose looks perfect!

It has a higher rotation...6,000- 12,000....is this safe to use on cars if we are using the right pads????

    FWIW,

I would think that wood working is a different animal than working on paint. I remember using an orbital and by hand on our dinner table and I sprayed a lot of clear on it and did a lot of work to sand it flat.

The OPM seems high but it doesn't say if it's under load or not. The PC/G100 is between 2500 to 6000 OPM no load. So...I guess it's higher. I would be careful if you get one.

At coastal tool (online) the PC 7424 sells for 99 bucks+ shipping (probably 10 bucks depending where you live).

I thought of buying one before I got my G100 but was afraid it was too high of OPM.

Not only did he use it for sanding, but also in on the final polishing. He normally sprays nitro "matte" or a semi gloss, then uses a meguiars polish to bring out the shine..Way better than a factory finish!

I wish I had some old cars to try it with....looks great
