This is an amazing DA guide that I've used numerous times. Hope you can too!

Machine Polishing By Dual Action Polisher Detailing World Guide Created By Dave KG One of the best ways to take your car's paintwork to the next level is to use a machine polisher to remove the swirl marks and enhance the gloss by burnishing the finish. Polishing can be done by hand. However...

        That's a nice guide.
Very time consuming for the guy that did that.

                    Re: Awesome DA Guide!

It was good reading. One sections says (edited to shorten):

Once the polish is spread, step the machine up to a higher speed (PC: 5; UDM: 4-5; G220: 4-5).... Make three or four passes at this speed to begin working the polish. With certain polishes, for example Meguiars #83 Dual Action Machine Polishing by Dual Action Polisher Cleaner Polish, keep the machine at this speed for the duration of the polishing set until the abrasives have fully broken down.....For many other polishers, step the machine up to a high speed (PC: 6; UDM: 5.5; G220: 5.5), maintaining the pressure from above....Keep going until the polish residue goes clear as shown in the picture below.

The advice on speed changes is different. I had read elsewhere that you go to highest speed / less pressure after it had broken down to burnish it a little.

It could be that the #83 is being worked to it highest potential correction (for defect removal i.e. as long as possible before it dries) this would be ok were you to follow up with #80/82 but if going to LSP i would ease off for as deep/clear finish as possible. Only and idea so anyone correct me if wrong. Thanx

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the picture with the Meguiars D/A with a red pad & 105. Later in the guide using the D/A with a cutting pad and #84.

                        LSP?

Although i have never used cutting pads, some do on very hard paints such as newer VAG and BMW/Mercs, if the user doesnt know rotary.

LSP = Last Step Product/protection (polish/Wax such as GC Liquid Wax, or Wax #16?)

What one manufacturer recommends and what you do is two different things.

I've used these pads and speed 6 all the time but you need to be sure of what you're doing.

Like driving a Viper at 150mph.......
                              Very capable but not recommended!
