  • Polish then Wax Question?

Can someone please tell me if I put on a nice Carnuba Polish and then a quality Cleaner\Wax - - - will the Cleaner part of the 2nd product take off or nulify the prior Carnuba Polish?

    Re: Polish then Wax Question?

First, what's a Carnauba Polish? We offer some waxes with Carnauba in them as do a lot of companys, but not sure about a 'polish'?

Second of all, a cleaner wax is designed to clean, that means remove, so yes, if you apply a cleaner/wax to the surface of paint you will remove whatever is on the surface of the paint to some level, it depends upon how strong the cleaner/wax is and also how you apply it. Part of the cleaning action of any product is how it is applied, if you apply a gentle cleaner wax gently it won't have much cleaning or removing action, but if you take that same product and apply it with some passion and pressure and use a material with some bite it will clean or remove more than the first way you applied it.

    Lots of factors to consider.

      Re: Polish then Wax Question?

I have "Virgin" paint, rolled on Interlux Brightside 1 part Polyurethane, I need to color sand out imperfections with 1500 - 2000 Grit, then compound to smooth and polish to prepare for 1st wax.....the Carnuba Polish I am referring to is made by Poor Boys' and it is a Blue Carnuba Polish; and since I am using a Marine paint with ******, I was thinking about then using Interlux's ****** cleaner Wax,,,,,,will NOT Seal for maybe 6 months [let the paint totally cure]. I wish it was just a straight wax but it has cleaning solvents in it.

PS - I am about to purchase a G110 Kit from AGeek.
