  • #9 G110 & speed ?

    Guys,

My new silver BMW will arrive next week and I'll be prepping with #9
and NXT 2.0 with a G110. Need to know what speed to use for 9 since
there will be no defects but want to remove any applied junk that may
have been applied after I clay?

    Thanks,
    Wig

    Congrats on the new car!

Hopefully there will be no marring, but often on new vehicles, depending on how they were prepped by the dealer, you may have some mild marring.

Meguiar's M09 is extremely mild and will clean the finish prepping it for your NXT 2.0. But keep in mind, if you do have any marring, you will need a product like M80 as M09 is just too mild for swirl removal with the DA. In either case, for polishes and compounds, set the G-100 to speed 5. For applying the NXT, use speed 3.

I hope this helps! Post some pictures of your new ride!

Thanks for the info Tim, I understand the M09 will add a bit of depth and clarity to my silver finish. Since I will not be removing defects just using for the rich polish, how many pounds should I apply to the G110? I have some #80 I'll be using for my 04 Chevy Express which has DISO.

If you are just using it to add gloss, and not trying to remove anything, then around 5 lbs of pressure whould be fine.

Be sure to post some pics when done!

Setting 3 and 5 are quite abit different between the G100 and the G110 and I believe the original question concerned proper settings for the G110.

Meguiar's still recommends the same settings for the G-110 as they do for the G-100. Luckily I have a little inside info on that...
