Re: i dont really like this

If the grey matter works in my head, the cost factor is what determined the lack of lifetime warranty. A 1 year warranty is implied.

Read this article, about page 4 on this thread in the old forum:

    G110 Dual Action Polisher

I had a chance to return my G100 as I thought it was not working right. I instead pleaded with Mike to test it and send it back if it worked for him or send a new one if it's broken. I guess I need practice as it worked fine for him. I rather had done that than send a good machine back and get a new one and have same results and be frustrated all over again.

The machine was made to Meguiars specs and should be fine.

I usually look for a warranty on new unproven products. For me, at least, reputation is the warranty. If it's recommended by Meguairs, I don't need a warranty as it just bumps the price up.

Re: i dont really like this

I think that if your G110 ever had an issue due to faulty design or you just happened to get a bad apple, Meguiars would probably willing to help you out.

While I cannot back that up with any kind of facts or guarantee I can tell you that Meguiars is all about their customers. Hanging around their garage a few times I have seen the dedication that Meguiars employees have towards their customers satisfaction. The fact that they share their wisdom in keeping cars looking great and protected just proves it.

Besides having a great product I use Meguiars for those reasons too.

of course no offense to meg's i love the products and service and forum but if the product is reliable and no one has to use the lifetime warranty why would that jack the cost up to have just a sentence saying " lifetime warranty" and honoring it when it's needed vs a 1 year and then something goes wrong on the 366th day and your out 150 bucks thats all i was wondering i guess i just dont get why it would cost them anything but more customers

... I can't remember the last thing I bought that had a lifetime warranty... does such a thing still exist? Even Craftsman tools are getting away from that.

There is a cost and what we learned over the years after competing against all the other online and offline vendors where you can buy the PC for about $120.00 or less is that most people opted for the cheapest price because they didn't think they would ever wear out the tool and thus they didn't want to pay our price of $225.00 for our Porter Cable DA Polisher to get the "Extra" protection in case the polisher broke on day 366

That was and is the trend.

Best thing to do if you have more questions about this is to call Customer Care Direct at

                1-800-347-5700

Or send your thoughts on this to Customer Feedback which is read by management.

                Contact Meguiar's

                Thank you.

We're happy to say our new G110 and our new G220 offers more power than the Porter Cable units others continue to sell and this means more power to remove defects which is where most people struggle and most people invest the majority of their paint detailing time and that's removing defects.

We offer a 1 year warranty on this tool and the price reflects this value.

I agree with you, however.....Costco once let you return computers, etc. with the equivilant of a "life time warranty". They stopped doing so. I am not sure why, but, I can guess.

Re: i dont really like this

Given the choice, a wise consumer will usually not opt for an extended warranty. I always figure if I need an extended warranty then I'm buying the wrong product.

With this particular product I imagine that the real margin is made on the pads, not the machine. Sort of like your razor and blades.

Well. we still don't have those (G100 & G220) at our market dealer in ksa. they don't have full range of meguiar's tools like the foam pads and they have 2 kind of towels (only supreme shine and chamios) and the chamois i bought was in a bad condition,. still like meguiar's products though.
