  • Help on Pads

Hey, I am noob at this so here is some basic question.

What is the difference between a lake country CCS orange pad and the Lake country orange light cutting pad. One has wholes on the pad and the other doesn't.

A light cutting pad designed to remove moderate swirls and scratches with a medium polish. Works great with the Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound M105 and the Menzerna Super Intensive Polish SI 1500 (PO83). Price: $9.99. Brand: Lake Country. Size: 6.5".

Also, is the counter weight needed?

    Re: Help on Pads

Most pad manufacturers now offer some pad with a special design. The idea is to reduce the heat associated with rotary polishing. Also, they are supposed to reduce skipping and hop.

If you are using a PC, then there is no reason to use a special pad with the design.

The counter weight doesn't matter when polishing.

      Re: Help on Pads

Just a quick tip here: if you're going to use Meguiar's polishes and/or paint cleaners then your best bet for pads is to stick with the Meguiar's brand. Their chemicals and pads are actually designed to work together. Now, that doesn't mean you can't use LC pads with Meguiar's chemicals or someone else's chemicals with Meguiar's pads, but for optimum results you'd be better off.
