  • Case for G100

    Hey all,
I wanted to carry my G100 in a case, protected, and all parts related to it together. Lowe's has aluminum sided cases with cube foam for around $25.00, but the one I used is a blown-mold (something like that) case. Just pick out the foam cubes where your want to place an item, and voila! a professional looking case that keeps it all together and protected. If you want to add stuff later, like different size backplates or accessories, just leave room for future items.
Not sure if these photos will post.

    That’s way cool!

One suggestion, I’d pluck the foam in front of the PC to allow you to keep the backing plate on in the case. Having to remove the plate every time you put the tool away will get old real fast.

      Looks good!

I have a Pelican case for my photography gear and it's indestructible. Looks like almost the same thing, just maybe not water proof.

        WOW!! that's cool!
I agree with PC, make a modification so that you don't have to remove the backing plate each time and don't waste time

Very nice. I love it. I'll have to check out the local Lowe's for the one you first mentioned.

Where can I find the case?

                    I haven't seen that case at Lowe's.

The ones at Lowe's are aluminum on the outside, kind of a pebbled finish. The have the same sort of foam inside, plus, under the foam on the top of the case, there's vinyl loops for holding a couple of screwdrivers and such. I think they call it a tool case. I've seen them at Home Depot, Lowe's etc.

                        Hey everyone,

I sent porter cable a e-mail in regaurds to the case or their 97355 sander which is the same type machine as the g100. I asked if they sold it seperately and for how much. When I get a response I will update the info.

Porter Cable one's are around. There is a thread somewhere here about it.

I finally got the info from porter cable about the case. It is 36.99 plus tax and shipping. here is the number for their parts order center. 800-223-7278. let them know that it is for a 97355 kit and this will get the right case.
