  • What I need to get started with a PC 7336

    Hi guys,

This might been covered many times before, but I had trouble finding a single thread that would contain all the information I need in a convenient manner.

I purchased a PC 7336 a few days ago, and was just wondering if you could give me a list of products to buy to get me started with this polisher.

I know that I will need a backing plate, and some foams, but do you have the specific product name for them?

    Thanks!

What you need is really dependent upon what you're trying to accomplish.

Are you trying to create show car results?
Are you trying to clean up you car with the least amount of work and investment?
Are you starting a detailing business?

It's conceivable you could get by with some ColorX and a couple of foam pads, even just one foam pad and a couple of microfiber polishing cloths to wipe the dried wax off.

      What are you working on?

      What are your goals?

I have the same questions. Kind of want to take care of this.

2000 SS Camaro that I race & daily drive. The car has really just been washed and waxed. Normally with Meguiars gold class wax. I just used Meguiars cleaner wax for the first time this fall. Recently bought a clay bar kit and went to the detailing 101 class. Didn't get a lot out of it. Not the instructors fault, just one of those classes where people in the class talk just to hear themselves talk. Lunch was late, so the class went late, etc.,

I'm not looking for a show car finish, just think the paint could be better with a little care. I want to clay it and get a porter cable and do some light clean up, then wax it well for the summer.

Here's an article that goes over the basics, of course you want to start with washing, drying and then claying first.

Not fast enough. high 11's, trapping in the 120 range.

Jeremy did a good job with the class, Just the group we had seemed hard to stay on topic. Just by time he got to the G100 part of the class, it was already 2pm when the class was supose to end.

Does the Porter Cable come with a backing plate? I just ordered a new one online. Looks like it comes with one, just not sure if it's the right one.
