I've waxed by hand my whole life and just got a 7424, I've used it twice so far and can't believe that I went so long using my hands, what was i thinking.

All my life I waxed by hand. Our present vehicle should be called the swirlmobile, man its nasty. Tried scratchx by hand saw a big improvement still not were I wanted car to be. Did #80 by hand more improvement, but not enough. Bought the G100 from ads plan on using for the first time this weekend.

I have a 7424 I just got a few weeks ago. For the last decade I've been using a Cyclo. I thought the Cyclo was a nice machine, but the variable speed capabilities of the 7424 are a huge advantage.

I bought the 7336 at my local Lowe's long before the big clearance sale, but I did have a 10% off coupon.

My purchase of this version of the machine was 100% motivated by price. I felt I didn't need a lifetime warranty because the machine doesn't get used all that much and the price difference was significant.

I dont mean to sound stupid, but what is the difference between the 7424 and the 7336? I have tried looking at Lowes online for the 7424 but its not available and the 7336 is available but $109.

I think I found the answer to my question. The 7424 comes with a 5" counterweight, and the 7336 comes with a 6" counterweight, which is b/c it comes w/ sanding pads. Even with polishing pads, though, it seems the 6" counterweight reduces vibrations back to the user.

If you haven't found the answer to your question,

Meguiars G100A Polisher - Lifetime warranty, 5 ounce counter weight, one backing plate and one pad is included - Meguiars G-100A This one is set up and ready to go out of the box.

Porter Cable 7336(considered a sander) - one year warranty, 6 ounce counter weight and you will have to buy the Meguiars DA Velcro Buffing System(contains: one backing plate, two soft buff polishing pads and one soft buff finishing pad)

Porter Cable 7424(considered a polisher) - one year warranty, 5 ounce counter weight and you will have to buy the Meguiars DA Velcro Buffing System(contains: one backing plate, two soft buff polishing pads and one soft buff finishing pad)

All three machines(the power unit itself)are basically the same. You need to get Meguiars brand pads if you go with either Porter-Cable (7424/7336) version, do not use the included white pad.
