  • Meguiar's Cordless Orbital Buffer

Is this any good? Has anyone used one? We are unable to get the G100 here in Australia but we can get this.

I would like to know if I would be better off getting this or an ordinary dual action buffer, something like a Bosch one.

    Any info would be appreciated.

it has been talked about from time to time on MOL and it seems the cordless orbital is best for applying a wax. It doesn't have the power that a PC does to remove defects.

We have discontinued to offer this tool. It doesn't have enough power to remove defects out of a clear coat finish, (unless the clearcoat paint is as soft as butter), because it's battery powered. About the only thing it was really good for was to apply a thin coat of wax to a finish already in excellent condition. You're hand can apply more cleaning power than this battery operated tool could apply.

If you cannot get the G100 in Australia try looking for the Porter Cable 7424 oe European equivalent. I would think that another reason it is not offered is the electrical requirements of the G100 are only made for U.S. Again, I am not sure if you folks down under go by European electrical standards, I would assume so. Hence the portable is available.

We can't get the Porter Cable here either. We are on 240volt power.
I have been looking at different types we have here but everyone I have asked doesn't really know. I am only able to get one that is originally designed as a sander, ie Ryobi Bosche or Makita.
Without knowing what I am looking for I am not prepared to shell out the dollars as I don't have money to waste.
