Do you mean the W7006 burgundy cutting pad?

Looking at the reflections you've obviously brought out a lot of clarity in the reflection, but without larger and more detailed images it's difficult to tell how much hazing you may have there.

I know Meguiar's does not recommend the use of a cutting pad (W7006) with a DA but I recently had a situation where M80 on a W8006 Polishing pad just wasn't quite cutting it (no pun intended!) with the G-100/PC. I stepped up to M83 on a W7006 and it got rid of the swirls/scratches/waterspots but I definitely needed to follow with M80 on a W8006 pad to remove the hazing. Then it looked fantastic!! This was on dark blue metallic paint.

If the images you have there are of a black car, and you used a cutting pad, I'm willing to bet you need to follow this with M80 on a W8006 pad. Heck, even M83 on a W8006 often needs to be followed by M80!

Oops, you were right. It was w7006. And yes, I did use w7006 with M83 and then w8006 with M83 to finish it up. And thanks for the advice.

hehe, the reflection of the plants. i thought you had like oil on the side of the car, and you had zig-zagged your finger through it.

had me stumped for at least 30 seconds

Lol, it does look like I had some oil on the paint (now seeing it your way).

Yes I did use 7006 with M83. The yellow pad is way too soft for the paint on my car.

Might I be so bold as to make a suggestion here? Tape off a section of the hood and follow the 7006/M83 combo with 8006/M80 combo. I'm willing to bet you see a definite improvement in the finish.

If the car was badly swirled and/or water spotted then I have absolutely no doubt that the car looks better after 7006/M83 than it did before. And it may well be that 8006/M80 wasn't taking out all the defects. But I would be stunned if 7006/M83 didn't leave behind a fair amount of hazing. 8006/M80 will pretty easily take out the hazing and leave a gorgeous finish, especially on your black paint.

As I said in my first response to this thread, I had this very experience just a few weeks ago on a dark car. 7006/M83 was a definite improvement, but 8006/M80 was just....wow!!!!

I'd love to hear your feedback after doing a 2' x 2' section of the hood and comparing it in direct sunlight. A little blue painter's tape is all you need. I'll wait.

Ok Mike. Too late, the hood is done. However, the trunk lid still needs some work. I am gonna try 7006/M83 on 1 section and 7006/M83 followed by 8006/M80 on another section. We'll see what'll happen. Please wait for my post . Hopefully after xmas, I'll have some time to do it.

No problem, I'll wait. Hey, since you started this thread as a game, how about we continue the game theme and let people vote whether they think you'll see a nicer finish with the 8006/M80 follow up. And by nicer, I mean nicer enough to justify the extra work of doing the whole car this way.

Good idea. Let me do the work first and show you guys the results afterward.

1995 Bez e-320 class charcoal. The paint is really in bad shape with rock chips and swirls every where. The CC is cracking on the hood and beyond repair. The passenger side panel is repainted with poor quality paint. The list goes on and on. I bought this car solely for pratice purpose. But so far, I am amazed with what I can do with Meg products. Megs.
