Is the Meguiar's G100A a rebrand of the PC 7424?

Yep. The g100A has no backing plate. The G100 does.
    Same animal all around.

That’s backwards. The G100A comes with a W64DA Backing Plate and one W8006 Soft Foam Polishing Pad.

The 7424 comes without a backing plate, just a screw-on pad (that nobody likes).

The G100A also comes with a lifetime warranty versus the 7424’s one year warranty.

          Re: PC and Meguiars G100A

          Gentlemen,

So, the 7424 is the same product as the G100? I am searching prices for either one, but prefer to buy the Meguiars (with the lifetime warranty so I read.), I am at a point in my detailing that I have hand removed 95% of my swirl marks out of my hood of my Yukon (Sorry no pix) but, having spent an hour removing them with Cleaner Wax then NXT wax on top of it (after claying of course) my wife even noticed the difference in the shine but needs more help. But, back to what I was saying, I prefer the Meguiars, but if the Porter Cable is the same animal it would benefit me financially right now. I read the Porter Cable is 2,500 RPM to 6,000 RPM is the G100 the same speeds? (the site doesn't say what the speeds are).

          Thanks for any help.

Now I have to pick up my stuff from washing, waxing, grunting, complaining, kudos to you who do this for a living, it's getting dark outside and the wife wants to go to a movie.

Oh....the PlasticX works great, my tail lights look good as new and my headlights with exception to some deeper pits, look crystal clear.

I don't have a camera, it was left at my sisters during Thanksgiving. But, believe me, my self induced swirl marks are not going to plague me anymore, I guess I have to get the 3 step Meguiars stuff until I get my PC or G100. The Cleaner Wax did a great job of polishing most of the swirls out, man my shoulder hurts, good thing I did this after Thanksgiving to drop some of the pies I ate yesterday.

          Thanks in advance.

              Re: PC and Meguiars G100A

Buying the G100 directly from Meguiar's can be a bit pricey since they use the MSRP, but the package deals at ADS bring the price down a lot, and is probably the way to go.

ADS also sells cases of 6 pads that is a very good deal, since a couple spares are always handy.

There is no exact way to measure pad speed, since it is not a circular motion. But it is the same motor, so if someone knows a motor speed, then yes, it is the same.

If your goal is the G-100, and you plan to get one in a month or two, I wouldn't even worry about the DC line. You will want ScratchX on hand no matter what, but other than that, you can just stick with the #80, #83, and wax of your choice to use with the G-100.
