Man I just read that thread about roller painting. It makes me want to go buy some old beater just to try it. That's really cool that you did it. It looks good. Which paint and thinner did you use? What was your process?

I used Rustoleum Professional and Odorless Mineral Spirits. Thinned it about 15-20% with the mneral spirits. Just followed the basic instructions on that thread. One coat wait about 6-8 hours then second coat. Wait overnight and wetsand with 600 paper, repeat and used 1500 paper then repeat and wetsand with 2000 paper.
After the final wet sanding I originally used a cheap rotary and just turttle wax polish paste. This made it shine but it was dull and a lot of scratches as you can see earlier in this post.
The real bonus was using the G100 and the multiple levels of Meguiar's product - #83 with a W8006 pad and wipe off wet, #80 with a W8006 pad and wipe off wet and #21 with a W9006 pad let dry and then a W7006 pad with a microfiber bonnet to take it off.
This was a $1000 car my son purchased so it was our chance to experiment. I am pleased with how it turned out. I think with this one completed that I could actually do better the second time around. Of course that is the way it is with everything!
Overall I LOVE the G100 and Meguiar's product. Thanks to this board it shines nice and black!
The plan is tomorrow afternoon to do MY car with #80 and then with #7 followed by #21.
QUESTION to all - Should I follow #21 by wax or is this a wax? Also is there a guide to what are the best combinations and order of applications? Thanks!
That #21 will do just fine by itself. Personally I would top it off with #26. But then again I would probably #26 your dog if it stood still long enough. (stand down PITA I'm just kidding.
Yeah Megs stuff rocks. Nobody else that I saw in that thread got a gloss like you did. I'm looking forward to seeing your next project. I bet it has much less orange peel.
That shot with the half hood completed looked like a demo! That was a huge difference all around. The picture from the side is like a mirror reflection showing both cars in the shot Wish I still had a black car now to get that kind of shine! Good Job
