  • Would a PC be good for a newbie like me?

Well I am just now getting back into the game of keeping my cars looking good. I just purchased a new 2007 Camry and would like to put on a nice coat of wax and keep a nice coat of wax/polish on it monthly or every 2 months.

I also have a white 92 camry that was housed in Florida 90% of its life and does not have much of a clear coat left on it. It also has some paint issues but nothing major.

    My question is this.

Do i muscle through the pain and do the cars by hand? Or purchase a PC and do it with that?

I also worry my newbieness will cause me to burn the paint job using a PC.

Any thoughts, suggestions, recommendations would be great!

    thanks

I will say invest the $200 or so dollars in getting set up with a PC. You will love it and so will your car.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

The dual actioin polisher (pc) has a clutch in it, so it is completely safe. It will not burn the paint. It is a great machine that never gets tired and provides an even application. I would definitely recommend it. There is a lot of information on using them on the forum.

I'm such a newbie as well and let me tell you, working with pc is way much better than working by hand. Great result that working by hand could not achieve, plus you won't be as tired. As other said, pc is very gentle that if you use the right products with the right technique, there is no fear in burning the paint. I agree with the others... a PC is well worth the investment. You can take the look of your vehicle to a 'new level' over doing the process by hand. The PC is for anyone a beginner to a pro!

Using common sense you are not going to damage your paint.

By all means get the G-100 I think it would be almost imposible to mess up.
I would also recomend the training DVD that is available.

I'm pretty much a newbie too and just bought a G100 (it came in the mail yesterday). I'm going to be trying it out this weekend, so I'll let everyone know how it goes.
