OK experts, I read all these threads about what to use and when to use them and find them all very informative. With the help of these posts I've been able to maintain my '05 Denali's paint to levels beyond my wildest dreams, and for that I thank you all and Meguiar's for their wonderful product line.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for my motorhome -- it's paint was neglected long before I bought it. I'm working on it now, however, and am going to need some product advise. The blue and white paint on aluminum siding is very oxidized and it has severe water spotting (not etched). The paint on the fiberglass front cap isn't as bad, but does have minor oxidation too.
I'm currently using the DA with ScratchX (and M80) with the 8006 pad on speed 5. It's doing the job, but it's taking some "real work" and a lot of product to bring it back. I was thinking perhaps a bit more bite is in order, but not sure what to use.
I recall someone asking in a a thread for a list of products on an abrasiveness scale (from most to least). He was told that there were too many variables like rotary or DA, pad type, temperature, humidity, pressure, speed, etc... to create such a list.
I'd like to see a list too, but only those that one would use with the G-100. Set all the variables to mid-range on the scale of mild to wild and use the "535" rule. Assume the W8006 pad for paint cleaning and correction products and the W9006 pad for finishing work and products. Is that a reasonable request and enough information for someone to take a swing at?
