I have always been optimistic about using a polisher becasue I always thought I would burn or create more scratches than there were before but a week ago I bought the PC, I have not used it yet becasue I dont want to mess up my black paint. I have the stock white pad and I need a list of what to buy for my polisher. I already have #7, and #26 and I have been using those by hand with mixed results. I have also used the 3 step system by hand and that worked pretty well. I wash, bar and wash again and then apply the products but there are still "spider webs". Which plates and pads do I need to get the true shine and wet look that every car "nut" wants.

Hi 02BlakDakR/T,
Welcome to Meguiar's Online!
Most people comment that the white pad that they get with the PC when they buy it as a kit from other retailers is really only good for placing a bonnet over it and using it to remove wax.
If you're serious about taking your finish to a higher level and learning to do this by machine you really need to get one of our pad kits, which includes 2 W-8006 yellow polishing pads and 1 each W-9006 foam finishing pads.
Besides that, here's an article that goes over the basics, most people can start at the M80 step.
