Using the 7006 pad on paint.

First off, just for our friend Mike... before I go any further... Meguiars does NOT recommend using the 7006 pad for anything other then removing product with a MF bonnet.

Now that I got that out of the way...

How many of you break the rules and use the 7006 to fix severe cases? What do you use with it? What speed do you use? What does it take, paint condition wise, to whip out the 7006 and use it on the paint?

Ive used similar pads with a Cyclo... but have not used the 7006 on the G100. I was tempted to with my last job but I got the #83 to work with a 8006 pad, although it took a lot of work.

For what its worth I have used both the 4000 wool pad + 85 and 7006 +84 for expermentation purposes only...

The 4000 + 85 really did leave some hazing that I couldn't remove with the PC.... I had to take out the rotary and make a pass with DACP to remove it....

With 7006/84, it put on a light haze but did some defect removal. I was able to remove the hazing with DACP/PC no problem. I would imagine on hard paint the haze would have been more difficult to remove.

Are you referring to using a W-7006 on a D/A Polisher or a rotary buffer ?

I use 83 on a 7006 with both our cars, and my buddy uses his 7006 pad with the Medallion series paint cleaners. I have never had a problem, though I do not apply any pressure and I use extreme caution. I would never promote it, since most of the people on this site do not, and they have A LOT more knowledge and experience than I do. I just know what works for my cars particular paint.

I used it ( on a DA) before I ever heard Meguiar's didn't recommend it, on this really bad Caddy finish. Didn't have any problem.
