  • help with dacp

    2nd time using dacp..

encountered a problem while doing a car
first half of the car everything was smiles and giggles, then as i started working on the other half the product would start.. 'gumming' (not sure what word to use) up a lot, i'd get a lot of rubber eraser-like residue on the edges of the area i was buffing

got me a little freaked out cause the residue came off like rubber when i tried to take it off with QD (little clumps)

in terms of technique, i wasnt buffing for more than a few minutes, sections 2 sq ft.
    15-20 lbs of pressure

i tried taking a mf and pressing it into the pad with the machine on, and that cleaned off a lot but it was still happening

i didnt finish until sunset, so no sun pics
i took out 99% of the swirls though, dacp rocks

Sounds like you weren't cleaning the pad well enough as you went or were using too much product.

    For cleaning, try a toothbrush.

Try using a moist terry cloth instead of MF as that will absorb more product off your pads. Do this after each section. Also, make sure the panel you're working on is cool to touch.
