PC or Rotary

I have a black truck with waterspots,oxidation and acid rain damage on the hood and roof.I have researched the use of both rotary and orbital buffers.Will the PC unit handle these problems or do I need to get a rotary and take a chance of messing my paint up since Ive never used a rotary??
I have a orbital buffer that I bought from the local Autozone,Is this going to be comparible to the Porter cable unit??

Invest in a dual action polisher, master this tool first, then if need be move up to a rotary buffer.

As for your question about whether or not the polisher you have will work like the G100/PC...
