  • first try with #80

i had my first try with #80 today, it went well and the paint looks great now with nxt on top

one slight niggle,on the roof of the car some patches were hard to remove...kinda gummy ? i had to scrub a little to take it off

does that mean i worked it too long? or was the pad getting gummed up

the car was in the sun..but the panel was cold to touch

    *edit

theres another couple of area i could use some help...when cleaning off the 80 after using the pc, i found i was wasting time walking a few steps to find a spot to lay the pc down , then grabbing a mf to clean of the 80 , and then going back to the pc ....should i be holding the pc and wiping with my other hand??
it just seemed i was wasting alot of time wandering around putting the pc down

and the cable over my sholder...it kept sliding off, being right handed would i have the cable over my right shoulder??

    Steveo,
If your product is gumming up on the paint, you probably need to clean your pad, and you might be using too much product. I have found having a slightly damp microfiber towel with your favorite spray detailer works great to remove those gummy areas.

as for wasting time, I just keep a couple Microfibers in my pocket, and I usually have my like rolling seat nearby, so I just have to lay it down and wipe.

i found the gumming up to be less when i used more #80

as for pad cleaning halfway through a job....would you rinse it in water or use a brush on the pad? i guess eventualy i will have a few of each but i only have one right now

to clean the pad while detailing, I just hold down towel on the floor and run the machine against it, you have to becareful so it doesn't wrap the towel around it, but it cleans off the excess from the pad.
