  • Use of the handle on PC?

    Noticed in this pic:

There is no handle. Is it better to take it off?? I have used mine twice with the handle. Thanks.

I prefer to use mine with the handle, I feel I have more control and it feels more "natural". Disadvantage is that you can't get into tight spots, then I remove it. I have thought it might be kind of handy to have a handle mount on the top of the polisher, similar to some grinders.

      It’s a personal thing.

I prefer to use it without handle. I find it easier to maneuver and to press down evenly that way.

Try it both ways and see which you prefer.

That's what I'm thinking. Give it a try and see what is comfortable.
        Thanks.

          Changed my mind!

When I detailed my truck last weekend, thinking back to this thread... I removed the handle and told my self not to use it. So, I didn't use it and you are right it is much easier to use without the handle. Thats the way to go!

Handleless here too. I just lent one of mine to a friend and I had to search high and low to find a handle...

funny so many people go with out a handel considering the manual tells you never to go with out the handle!

i think i had a thread like this

Possible explanation: when used as a sander, no pressure is applied. Very different from when we use it to polish vehicles.

C'mon, reading the manual is like asking for directions when you're los...er....uh....directionally challenged. Yeah, that's it. Guys just don't do either.

For the record, I don't use the handle. But you probably could figure that out from my initial response!

The machine is simple too easy to use without the handle plus Newbies tend to push down harder on the handle side causing them to buff crooked, (the pad is thus not flat and the goal is to always have the pad flat), and in some cases when you're following body lines of a car you'll actually yourself and the polisher in a position where the handle is digging into the paint.

When got my first polisher I threw the handle away and never looked back.

Try both ways and see which works best for you.

As for the rotary buffer, I go back and forth, sometimes with a handle and sometimes without the handle,
