    Hello,

Just ordered my D/A buffer as part of the gold class package (cant beat the deal).......Just a quick question, Due to time contstraints, I want to avoid having to ScratchX my whole car (will use it on some of the tougher scratches though)... and am going to use #9 Swirl Remover with the G100....I dont really read alot about #9.. (The car is black factory clear coat)...

    A. What are your thoughts of the product compared to the other cleaner polishes that meguiars offers?

    B. Any suggestions to compliment the #9? (consumer or pro brands) I was just going to go straight into 2 thin coats of NXT Paste?

C Is it pointless to hit it with a pure polish after the #9 and before the wax??

I have used both #9 and #80 via PC, I get much better results with #80. I gave up quick on #9 and moved to #80 as it seemed many more use #80 on MOL. Maybe with tips from users of #9 I would have had better results but I moved on.

If you want you could add a pure polish after any cleaner polish (like #9) to give a little more pop. Something like Deep Crystal Polish or M-07 Show Car Glaze or M-81 Hand Polish. It not a must but on my black vehicle a pure polish adds a little more pop.

IMO its not pointless to add a pure polish to your detail. If you are not sure, try it without the pure polish and if you like what you have great. If not, then on the next detail add a pure polish and see if you can take it up a notch.

Oh, and congrats on the new purchase you are going to like it! I have applied NXT Paste with my PC a handfull of times now and couldn't be happier with the ease of use.

I haven't had good results with #9, it's a consumer grade polish, too mild. Use at least #80 or #83 depending on how hard/soft your finish is. They are dimishing abbrasive so they are fairly safe and leave a great shine. They are either available online or through body shop paint supply stores.

M09 is a great product in the given application.

Personally, I've not had the results I want when using it on the DA. It's just too mild.

Where M09 does its best for me is on older, softer finishes. Even then, it was a rotary only product for me.

Hmmmm ya that seems to be the concensus from what i have heard/read.....how is the 80...I'm new to the g100 and dnt want any micro-marrings....

A is it mild enough to use on a newer car

B should I follow it up with a pure pollish foe some "pop"

I have used it on my Lightning since day 1, removed all the swirls/fine scratches the dealer was nice enough to install free of charge.

I am not a pro detailer, just other people vehicles here and there but I reach for #80 just about every time and all the vehicles are/have been nearly new vehicles. It is a very mild cleaner, it will also polish up very nice, I typically only use a pure polish on my vehicle and not other peoples for time reasons and this is where #80 helps out in really polishing up nice preparing the paint for a wax.

Many of the experienced people on the board (professionals or not), including myself, use M80 on the G100 as the final polish step, just before applying wax/sealant. It tends to be the one that removes any micro-marring left by other products.

That's your choice. M80 leaves a nice gloss by itself. It can be done, but it's not a required step.
