  • One last question

After reading through the G-100 forum I am convinced of it blowing my socks off. Now how long do the pads last? Did not see anything on it. Backing plate is still on back order so I'll order the DA went it is in. Thanks.

I've not heard of the pads every just dying for any reason that user error.

I've read up and it seem to me... If you keep your DA below 6, and Avoid MPS (Moldy pad Syndrome) you should be fine. I can't wait to use my DA, I spent about $120 at ADS and I'm waiting to detail my Jeep, the weather has been so nice I hope it holds.

I know one of my Meguiars Polishing Pads is a couple years old, probably been used 12-15 times maybe more and still looks and works good. I don't use them as a "professional" but for a average consumer I would guess they are going to last quite some time provided you don't have the problems SiriusRIMZ mentioned.

Meguiar's makes a great foam pad.

The key is to NOT scrape the pad against a sharpe edge or over rust/holes/rough pieces so they don't lose chunks. Once they get chunky, the things start to break down faster. They still will work, but they start to crumble.

I have pads used as far back as 1999. I haven't put them to daily use since I sold my shop in July 2000, but they WERE used 5-6 days/week until then.

The worst thing age seems to do is break down the laminate between the foam and the hook & loop backing.

Good luck and enjoy that new machine!
See the big picture, enjoy the details
