Finally got my big ADS order in last week. HOpefully with the holiday on Monday, the weather will cooperate and be nice. My questions are, which products do you use with which pads?

here's what i have:
9006 - 3 pads
8006 - 3
7006 - 2
MF bonnets - 2

I'm understanding that the 7006 is to never touch the paint. they are to only be used with the MF over top for product removal?

what kind of products can you remove with the MF bonnets? polishes, waxes, sealats?

here are the products i will mainly be using with the DA:

NXT wax
#21 (boy does 21 smell delicious)
#83
#80
#7

You are correct about the 7006, Meguiars does not recommend using it with the PC, you can use it as a backing for the MF bonnets like you had mentioned.

You can use the bonnets to remove any product but I find it more difficult and time consuming to remove cleaners and polishes. Reason is, you don't want to let the polish or cleaner dry or then become difficult to remove, you will have to continue to change pads from your application pad one min, to the removal pad/bonnet the next. I find it more practical to use the bonnets to remove only the waxs/sealants since you apply waxs/sealants to the entire vehicle, let dry then remove. I remove polishes and cleaners by hand. Just my .02.

okay so I could do the normal, wash with meguiars, dry with the meguiars towels, clay as needed then..


1) use 83 or 80 with a W8006 pad, remove with MF towel, not letting dry.
2) use #7 (if needed, i understand it might not be a needed step), with a W9006, and remove with a MF towel.
3) then apply #21 or NXT with a W8006 OR W9006, then remove with a MF bonnet over top of a W7006.

are those the correct steps and pads to use? I mainly paln on using those products as my main source. Maybe throughing a GC wax or 2 in there to see any difference.

oh yeah, could anybody send me the link to where Mike P showed the scale and how much pressure to apply for each product? I couldn't seem to find it anywhere.

You process sounds good... work #80, #83 and #7 in small areas, say 2X2 then remove with the product with a microfiber. The post above also has some good tips on applying #80 and #83. I prefer to apply the last step products with a 9006 finishing pad.

Edit: like you said you may or may not want to use #7 - I have never used #83 but I do use #80 all the time and it polishes up very nice.

Can the MF bannet be used only over a W7006 pad? Would it be ok to use it over a 8006?

I don't have a 7006 so I use it over the 8006... really it can be used over just about any pad but many say the 7006 works best.
