  • Any way to prevent hole to get bigger?

Like the title says, is there any way to prevent a hole in your cloth seats to get bigger?

Only real options are sewing/gluiing in a patch, or looking into a liquid hole/rip stopper. Neither are really good options, but if you stop by a fabric store, they may have the liquid stuff at least.

I just bought some used seats and one of them have a hole about half a dime big. Looks like it's b/c of pen or pencil. Is there a reason you would not suggest the liquid stuff or gluing? Does it make the seat look bad? Should I just leave it as it is and not worry about it? Thanks

If they are really nice seats, I would go to an Auto Upolstery shop and have it done right.

They may have some tricks up their sleeve that might be cheap enough to consider.

Don't mistake my enthusiasm for experience.

They are pretty decent seats, but nothing fancy. If the hole gets a little bigger, I'll definately look into a shop for fix. I rather have quick fix now and call it a day...

Will super glue or krazy glue work?

I dunno if glue would work or not. I'd stop by a good fabric/sewing place, and ask the old ladies there.

A third option, just for the heck of it, if it is synthetic matierial, is to melt the fabric.

Yea a couple of people told me that too. Use a little and burn part of it, but I'm afraid I might light up the whole seat.
