  • Stains from cleaners

I have light grey interior. the seats are cloth and the carpets are ...uh..carpet?
anyway I tried to clean the seats with prestone carpet interior cleaner (I no longer use this product) now I have dark stains where the cleaner went and also the application was sloppy and not easy. So what can I do with Meguiar products to make my interior look as good as the exterior? any advice is welcome

First, always test new products, and especially product intended to clean carpet and upholstery, (fabrics), in an inconspicuous area. Make sure they work in a small area first, out of site, then use them in the plain site areas. One of the major problems when working on fabrics is the colorfastness of the dye used give the fabric its color. Companies can make carpet and upholstery cleaners, but they cannot control the quality or the color fastness of all the fabrics being manufactured and used in cars. So aways test first.

At this point, I think instead of trying to find a different product to fix what has become two problems, you might seek out a reputable detail shop and ask them to try to fix it for you.

At least get a second opinion.
